The
following are some of the activities of Hatzolah Jerusalem:
- All Hatzolah
Jerusalem volunteers carry pagers so that they can be alerted to accidents
or medical emergencies. The voluteers who are in the general area of the accident
or medical emergency attempt to arrive at the scene as quickly as possible.
They immediately begin to provide the appropriate medical assistance until
the arrival of the Mogen David Adom ambulance. Many of the Hatzolah Jerusalem
volunteers are equipped with special first-aid equipment, such as resuscitation
kits, oxygen and other medical equipment (based on the level of training the
volunteer has completed.
- Hatzolah Jerusalem
organizes programs to raise public awareness and knowledge of first aid and
offers basic first aid courses to the public.
- Hatzolah Jerusalem
provides resource information to the public regarding first aid and preventive
health issues by publishing and distributing various instruction manuals and
pamphlets.
- Halzolah Jerusalem
has established, in conjunction with old age homes, senior citizen and geriatric
centers, special programs to provide better medical care and supervision.
- Hatzolah Jerusalem
assists Mogen David Adom's efforts to maintain the central blood bank by volunteering
at donor centers, sponsoring donor drives, and increasing public awareness
of the importance of donating blood.
