  Click into the Name the Decade contest and complete the Official Entry Form.
  
• No other form of application will be accepted.
  
• There is no limit to the number of entries allowed per person.
  
• No correspondence will be acknowledged.
  
• No entries will be returned.
  
• Participation in the contest constitutes the entrant's full and unconditional acceptance of the Official Rules.
  
• Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, or stolen entries; or for technical, hardware, software or telephone failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections or failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions which may limit or interfere with a participant's ability to take part in the sweepstakes.
  
• Additionally, the Sponsor shall not be responsible in any way for damages to any computer or other property resulting from participating in, or downloading any materials for this contest.
  
• Each e-mail entry shall be deemed to have been sent by the authorized account holder, at the time of such entry, of the e-mail address indicated on such entry.
  
• Entries which are mutilated, altered, incomplete, tampered with or in any way in noncompliance with these rules are void.
  
• Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel or modify the contest in whole or part for any reason including technical failure, virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or any cases beyond the control of the sponsor which would destroy the integrity of the sweepstakes.

• The contest will begin on July 4th, 2000.
  
• All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on October 30th, 2000 !

• The winner will be selected from the pool of applicants through a 2-step process.
• Ten finalists will be chosen based upon the outcome of the voting by the Judges Panel.
• The Judges Panel will be comprised of 5 individuals who have been selected by the Sponsor based upon their skill and expertise in a range of disciplines (e.g., linguistics, publicity, media, technology, etc.).
  
• The Judges Panel will review all submitted entries and provide their selection for 10 finalists based upon those entries which received the greatest number of votes from the panel.
  
• The list of 10 finalists will be presented to the public on this web site on or about November 6th, 2000.
  
• Following the publication of finalists, voting for the winner will occur on line, one entry per person during a three to four week period. Voting will occur on line using the finalist Ballot Form. The terms and conditions of voting are the same as the contest Entry Terms except that only one vote per person is allowed.
  
• The first entry which receives the greatest number of votes, will be selected as the Grand Prize Winner.
  
• The winning selection will be posted on-line at this site on December 1st, 2000.

• The entrant who has submitted the first winning "Decade" name (i.e., "potential winner") will be notified directly by e-mail and certified postal mail following the announcement of the winner on December 1st, 2000.
  
• The potential winner must respond within 5 days of receipt of notification.
  
• If the Grand Prize Winner does not or cannot respond to the notification within the specified time, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be chosen based on the next popular entry among the judging public.

• The Winning Judges are those judges from the Internet public who voted for that entry which became the Grand Prize Winner.
• The Winning Judge(s) will receive prizes to be sent to them upon the completion of Affidavits and proof of identification.

• Should the selected Grand Prize Winner for some reason be ineligible to claim the prize, the Runner Up will be chosen as the next Grand Prize Winner.
• The runner up may be,
  1. a person who submitted the same entry at a date following that of the initially chosen Grand Prize Winner, or,
  2. (if there were no other identical entries) the entry receiving the second most votes from the voting public for the Grand Prize winner.

• The Potential Winner will be required to execute and return within 5 days of notification, an affidavit of eligibility and liability release and, except where prohibited by law, a publicity release.
  
• Potential winner must provide required identification and proof of eligibility.
  
• Failure to comply with these rules will cause the prize to be forfeited and the next runner up will become eligible.

• Upon participation in this contest, the entrant agrees to release and hold harmless Name the @ Inc., the co-sponsor or promoter…and their respective directors, officers, employees affiliates, parent companies, subsidiaries, advertising promotion and fulfillment agencies and legal advisors from any and all liabilities, losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with the Contest or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of the prize, including and without limitation personal injuries, death, and property damage and claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy.
  
• By entering the contest, the Grand Prize winner consents to the use of his/her Hand name entry, name, and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes without permission or additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.
  
• Ownership of the Winning name will be held by the sponsor.
  
• The Grand Prize winner will have no further claims to the ownership of the name including use of the name for promotional or other purposes.
