atzolah
Jerusalem was founded 13 years ago as an auxiliary emergency medical unit. Today,
Hatzolah Jerusalem operates in over 20 cities and towns throughout Israel, and
responds to emergency calls 24 hours a day, everyday of the year.

Hatzolah Jerusalem is staffed with 213 volunteer emergency medical personnel,
all of whom have been certified by Mogen David Adom. Hatzolah Jerusalem volunteers
are not stationed in centralized locations or offices. They are active in all
walks of life: as students, teachers, professionals, employees, etc., and their
random geographic distribution allows the volunteers to be "on the scene"
almost immediately. Their average response time is less than 2 minutes.
This quick response accounts for the 34% success rate in treating cardiac arrest,
a success rate which is significantly higher than the national average. In addition,
since they arrive on the scene of medical emergency so quickly and begin to provide
the emergency care, they are able to advise the Mogen David staff of any special
needs or situations.
